Shiyu is built to collect as little as possible. There is no account system, no server of ours, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDK. Here is exactly where your data lives.
On your device. What you record is stored in the App’s local database (SwiftData, backed by SQLite).
In your iCloud. With iCloud enabled, data syncs to the private database of your own iCloud account through Apple CloudKit. Only you and your devices can access it; the developer cannot read it. Apple’s handling of iCloud is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
In the widget snapshot. So the Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets can show the nearest day, the App writes a read-only snapshot (title, date, icon, color) into its App Group container on your device. That file never leaves the device.
You can turn either off in Settings → Shiyu. The App keeps working; only the related feature is unavailable.
Membership is a one-time purchase. Payment, refunds, and code redemption are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive or store your payment information. The App only reads whether the current account owns the product (from StoreKit) in order to unlock features.
We do not integrate third-party crash reporting. If you choose “Share with App Developers” in iOS settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash logs and usage statistics; you can turn that off at any time.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We retain nothing. Your data lives only on your device and in your iCloud, for as long as you choose.
Data is protected by the iOS sandbox, your device passcode, and your Apple Account security. Please keep your account and device credentials safe.
If this policy changes, this page will be updated with a new date. Material changes to how data is used will be announced in the App.
